How do you use the "Quote Box" on Kinja?

Jesus fuck it's like getting a root canal while at the same time someone cuts out an ingrown toe nail.

Here's the deal.. Half the time I use the quote box function on replies it will work perfectly.. I can paste my reference and then double enter key to get out of the quote box.... The other half of the time it doesn't work. WHAT THE HELL IS GOING ON!?!?!!!?? FIX THIS STUPID WEBSITE!!!

I do it like this. I type up my entire message,

just like this,

and then go back after the fact to open the tools, select the text, and then hit the "blockquote" button.

The button has problems working if you've got formatting in the text. Bullets and copy pastes from other websites or documents seem to cause it to not work occasionally. You can use the html editor and enclose the paragraph in

and it'll often work fine.
